Free Entry and Free Parking

Admission is free but as The Monastery operates as a Charitable Trust, donations to help support the preservation of this important Victorian building and our outreach programme are very welcome.

Public Opening Times

Autumn/Winter hours: During October and November we will be open Sunday to Tuesday. From December to February, we will just be open on Sundays. Pantry opening hours differ.

The building is very occasionally partly or wholly closed because of scheduled events. Please see the bottom of this page or call (0161) 223 3211 for information on upcoming closure dates.

Facilities and Access

Visitor facilities include a permanent exhibition in the cloisters, a film room, a traditional gift shop, the St Francis Healing Garden and a tea room - The Victorian Pantry. The Victorian Pantry is open Sunday-Friday, 11am-4pm, throughout the year.

The Monastery is fully accessible for wheelchairs and buggies. There are accessible toilets available throughout the building and baby changing facilities available on the ground floor.

How to Find Us

The Monastery is less than a fifteen-minute drive from Manchester City Centre and a free, secure car park is available on-site. The Monastery is also accessible by train or bus from Manchester Piccadilly Station. For more information on how to get to the Monastery, please visit our Directions page.
