The Victorian Pantry is a classic vintage Tea Room offering a warm welcome.

Refurbished in 2017, our Victorian Pantry offers the perfect place for a morning coffee, a light lunch, afternoon tea or for a meeting. Enjoy a wide selection of homemade food in a delightful setting and take advantage of our free WIFI.

Tempting scones and cakes, a selection of speciality teas, homemade soup, sandwiches and salads are on offer throughout the day in traditional surroundings.

Experience the elegance of a traditional afternoon tea and enjoy a quintessentially British experience.

Enjoy a lovingly created afternoon tea at The Monastery, including a selection of freshly made sandwiches and homemade cakes and your choice of tea or coffee in fine china or a soft drink.


Afternoon tea prices start at only £14.95 per person and are usually available Sunday to Friday, 11am to 4pm. Please book in advance and make a reservation by calling 0161 223 3211.

Learn about the history of the building and try a Taste of the Monastery

Every Monday at 12 noon (March to November) join a short walking tour (20 minutes) of this former Church, Friary and Garden and enjoy a tasty lunch in the Victorian Pantry.

For only £9.50 per person, the Taste of the Monastery includes the walking tour and a lunch of homemade soup, sandwich, your choice of cake and tea or coffee. Please pre-book for groups of 6 or more.

You will not be disappointed by the array of traditional and affordable items available in our Gift Shop. Find a unique selection of traditional preserves and sweet treats, souvenirs, old-fashioned children's toys, hand-made jewellery and homeware.

Afternoon Tea at the Monastery

Enjoy a delicious afternoon tea in our Victorian Pantry from only £14.95 per person. Served on cake stands and in fine china, the Monastery afternoon tea is ideal for when you want to celebrate a special event or indulge in a delicious treat.

Festive Afternoon Teas available Monday to Friday in December from £17.95pp. Festive Afternoon Tea in the Great Nave is available on Sunday 23rd December at 12pm and 2.30pm. Must pre-book.
