Sacred chanting from the Amazon at Manchester Monastery

Event Details

We are honoured to welcome back the Huni Kuin tribe from the Brazilian Rainforest, returning to share their sacred songs and chants, as featured on BBC Radio 4. This is a rare opportunity to sit and sing in community, open our hearts, and receive the vibrational medicine of the forest in the heart of the Monastery.

About Kawá Huni Kuin

Kawá Huni Kuin comes from a lineage of healers and teachers indigenous to the state of Acre, in the Brazilian rainforest, close to the Peruvian border. He is the youngest generation of Huni Kuin ceremony leaders to leave his village as a messenger for his people’s teachings and traditions. His aim is to share indigenous knowledge with the world, whilst leading a campaign to improve nutrition and the conditions of daily life for forest people.

Kawá brings his message of healing and love direct from the jungle. Come experience the heart of the jungle, live from the Monastery.

How will I benefit from the experience?

  • Experience the power of healing through prayer and the voice, learning the sacred sounds of Huni Kuin chants and words from 1000 of years of unbroken tradition.
  • Self healing through chanting and offering that prayer to the world.

Are any special clothes or equipment needed to take part in Huni Kuin chants?

Please bring a notepad and pen if you’d like to journal or reflect during the event. A rattle or drum if you have one. Also a blanket for those that like to feel cosy.

There will be organic gluten free vegan options served in the Sanctuary cafe till 9pm.

When?
