Workshop in Meditation, Mysticism & Wisdom

Sunday, 11th February 2024, 10.30 – 16.00

In this workshop we will look at the role of meditation & mysticism in our own present lives & throughout history & investigate famous people who used their intuition & insights, gained through meditation & prayer to influence the world around them.

About this workshop

Meditation opens a pathway to a different way of understanding our world. Throughout history & in all faiths and religions, people have realized that they can access a state of Being, through prayer & meditation, which is of themselves but which also allows them access to an energy which is bigger than themselves & this is understood as Mysticism. St Francis, from whom the Monastery traces its lineage, was a mystic and sought his wisdom & path through life by communing with his God in the quiet places of the natural world.

The workshop will include a powerful Hindu guided meditation to enable the participants to have a taster of the realms beyond their normal experience.

Do I need any prior experience?

The only requirement to attend the workshop is that the participants must have previously meditated, it can be experienced from any faith or religion & they can be a beginner or with many years of practice, it does not matter. It will be an interactive workshop where the participants can bring their experiences to share, if they choose, so light can be thrown on the many different experiences of Awakening.

About your host

Gill Harbach, the workshop facilitator is an experienced meditator with over forty years experience. She is a regular contributor at the Monastery, presenting the monthly Hidden in Plain Sight tours. Her role as researcher, meditation teacher, energy worker & geomancer at the Monastery has led her down many rabbit holes regarding the spiritual history of the world. Being a mystic herself has allowed her to discover much hidden wisdom – revealed in this workshop – to help participants explore their own inner & outer worlds.
