The Real St Francis & St Clare

Since the passing of the man we know as St Francis of Assisi in the 1200s, he was actually baptised as Giovanni, the story of Francis’s life & legacy has been continually corrupted, his real story is far more beautiful & miraculous than the one traditionally told.In this talk we will discover the real Francis, the mystic and his female counterpart Clare, who later became the first abbess of the Poor Clare’s in Assisi. Their story is one of divine love, the blending of the divine masculine & the divine feminine. Francis himself always said there would have been no Franciscans without Clare.

Join Gill Harbach, a Franciscan researcher, who is passionate about telling Francis’s real story, who visited Assisi in her search to find out more about him & the humble St Clare, who was always by his side & grounded him.

Sunday 22nd October 1 – 3pm

The role of Mysticism and the Franciscans in the Secret History of the World

Most people are unaware of the influence that St Francis of Assisi and his followers have had on the world, throughout the centuries. He was a mystic, and is revered in Christianity, Islam and Hinduism. His friars were allowed to study astrology, navigation, alchemy, magic, the study of light, mathematics and geometry amongst many other subjects.

They were linguists too so they were able to delve into the mysteries of many faiths, religions and peoples. A Franciscan friar taught Leonardo Da Vinci sacred geometry allowing him then to understand light & produce his amazing paintings. They were integral in the discussions between the Pope and Henry VIII which led to the founding of the Church of England & another famous Franciscan, St Joan of Arc put her stamp on European history.

We will in this talk discover all these amazing stories and many more which are part of the Secret History of the Franciscans and in turn Our World.
