General Manager required for Manchester’s Modern Day Monastery

We’re looking for an exceptional General Manager, who has a passion for historic buildings and sacred sites, to look after our precious, modern-day Monastery.

We operate as a heritage visitor attraction with a spiritual sanctuary and wellbeing centre. We also deliver weddings and special events and operate as an educational, training, cultural and community venue.

We have an exciting and varied programme of events and visitors… so no two days are ever the same!

Who we’re looking for

You’ll be a multi-talented person, able to oversee facilities in our listed building and turn your hand to a range of tasks, working at the heart of our small dedicated team, including our volunteers. You’ll bring a passion for all we value and have demonstrable management skills, ideally developed in a heritage setting.

You’ll also have experience of delivering events and be able to contribute to the development of our venue to ensure it generates enough commercial income and future success to support the upkeep of the Monastery.

In return, we are offering a competitive salary (circa £40-£45K depending upon experience). You’ll also benefit from a pension scheme, generous holiday allocation and free parking on site.
