Manchester Camerata: Mozart, Beethoven & Pärt at The Monastery

As part of their week-long Here We Are residency – which has brought music to shopping centres, a skate park, and other unexpected venues across Greater Manchester – Manchester Camerata return to their spiritual home for a spectacular headline concert in the breathtaking Great Nave of The Monastery, Manchester.

Led by world-renowned conductor and Music Director Gábor Takács-Nagy, this special performance will be staged in the round, immersing audiences in an evening of unforgettable sound and atmosphere at one of Manchester’s most iconic heritage venues.

The programme opens with Beethoven’s dramatic Coriolan Overture, setting the tone for a night of passion and precision. Two of Mozart’s greatest symphonies follow — the Linz Symphony (famously written in just four days) and the Haffner Symphony, celebrated for its brilliance and joyful spirit. Between them, Arvo Pärt’s Cantus in Memoriam Benjamin Britten offers a moment of meditative beauty, scored for strings and a single tolling bell.

The Monastery, Gorton, Manchester – easy to reach from across Manchester, Stockport, Salford, and the wider North West.
