atOne and Spiritual Events

Imagine a place where you change the moment you walk through the door. Instead of checking in your coat, you hang up your troubles and let go of everyday concerns. A place to learn how to live. A place to find yourself. It’s a special place for ordinary people.

This former Franciscan church and friary has been deconsecrated but its sacred atmosphere still remains. The peaceful healing energy and the beauty of this space now welcomes everyone from all backgrounds, faiths and beliefs.

Visitors remark that every space in The Monastery appears to be blessed with a feeling of well-being. It’s so real, you think you can touch it.

Similarly, every event and every programme of participation and learning adopts the same high principles of well-being. Whoever you are, whatever you do, we extend a warm invitation to find yourself at the Monastery soon.

Lowering of blood pressure
Alleviating depression
Acclerating healing
Increasing focus
Chronic pain relief
Increased choice
Improving relationships
A stronger sense of self

Richard Lawrence

Avatars and Gods who came to Earth

From our earliest records gods in human form, known in eastern writings as avatars, have walked among us. These are not just the stuff of legend but of reality. Richard will explain the nature of divine incarnations upon Earth through the millennia including Sri Krishna, the Lord Buddha, the Master Jesus, Hercules, Moses, Samson, Sri Patanjali, Lao Tse, Sri Sankaracharya, Saint Peter and, most recently, Dr George King.

What was it like for these and other elevated Beings to be born on Earth? Where did they come from and why did they accept such limitation and suffering? Who directed the missions they each performed to perfection? What does the future hold for the next coming and who is the Lord of Earth who has always been with us?

In this fascinating talk and PowerPoint presentation, Richard will look behind the veil of history and reveal the true plan for world salvation and enlightenment.

Sacred Circle Dance

Talk and Mini Workshop Sunday 1st March
Ana will explain the about the origins of the Circle Dance Movement, its historical context and direct link with the Findhorn Foundation in Scotland and specific principles associated to the practice of circle dance. Covering the benefits and background of the dances, their symbolic and ritualistic aspects and also talking about recent developments of the Circle Dance Movement both at a national and an international levels.

About Ana
Ana a long time supporter of the Monastery has been teaching circle dance since 1995, both in Brazil, where she is from, and here in the United Kingdom. She has a passion for circle dance ever since she was first introduced to it in 1992 in Italy. She is an occupational therapist with over 25 years of experience, in both Brazil and the United Kingdom, and currently working as a senior practitioner for the NHS. She holds a PhD degree (University of Bolton) for which she has investigated circle dance as a medium to promote well-being.

Sacred circle dance derives from the tradition of folk dance and for that reason Its repertoire includes traditional dances from many different countries and cultures. In these sessions you will learn the steps to a range of simple and, sometimes, complex dances, which can be  lively or meditative in nature, set to a variety of inspiring music.

Sacred Circle Dance is available on the first Sunday of every month as part of our regular atOne Sunday programme, which also includes speakers, healers, meditation, Qigong and much more, for just £20 all day when prebooked, £25 on the door and includes a vegetarian lunch. Susan Roberts

Mini-Massages

Susan Roberts is a Body & Massage therapist with over 24 years experience.  She started offering mini treatments at The Monastery due to a connection she felt with the pillar of St. Leonard of Port Maurice (she quite often stands against it for some healing) it was Tony Hurley who gave her the background of the pillar to try and help to explain her connection.  She later discovered that Tony had had a statue of St. Francis “with no hands” in his office.

For more information on Susan's treatments or find out more about Body Awareness & Somatic Exercise Workshops; or to book a session in advance for the next atOne day. You can also read more if you click More Info here.
