Event Details
We are delighted to announce that Susan Roberts, Manchester Monastery’s very own somatic mind-body transformational therapist is expanding her work here and will be joining us every Wednesday to offer gentle yet powerful trauma discharge massage and psycho-tactile sessions.

What is trauma discharge massage?
The nervous system and physical body can hold our reactive state just by talking about our life’s experiences. The body doesn’t know the difference between here and now and there and then experiences – it just reacts in the same way, leading to tension and ultimately, physical pain and discomfort.
With incredibly sensitive touch, along with training and understanding about the mind-body connection that spans some 40 years, Susan’s legendary healing touch can help soothe what you may be holding on to – and invite the mind – the body – the nervous system – the subconscious – to let go and release it.
How will I benefit?
Done on a regular basis, TDM sessions not only help to discharge what the nervous system might still be carrying, it can also bring ease to the physical body, help to rebalance energy levels, help us to integrate change, and build a more robust resilience to life’s ups and downs.
Psycho-Tactile sessions are a deeper dive into where you feel stuck, why life isn’t working for you anymore – exploring what drives us to do what we do, react in the way that we react, the connection between there and then & here and now experiences – so we can work towards feeling more in control, rather that our subconscious controlling us. Both types of sessions are a journeys rather than quick fixes.
