Event Details
Join us from 11am on December 21st, 2025 for The Christmas Story & Donkey Day community event, a celebration for all the family – come and enjoy the festive fun, refreshments, music and activities, wear your favourite Christmas jumper or outfit, sing carols and meet real donkeys!
Festive refreshments will be on sale all day in the Welcome Café, featuring Carl’s lovely winter menu with brews, brekkies, butties, bowls and cakes galore.
Carol singing with the choir will begin at 1pm and the wonderful Christmas Story, led this year by Rev Fay Barratt (and the donkeys of course!) will start at 2pm.
Booking info
Entry is free (we’re always grateful for donations to the Monastery Charitable Trust on the day).
We’d really appreciate it if you could book a (free) ticket to give us an idea of numbers on the day (so we can ensure the café has enough brews and snacks to go round – thank you!)
Please reserve your complimentary tickets (with optional donation) by tapping here.
Donkey rides – NOW SOLD OUT, sorry!
Donkey rides will be available all day and cost £4 each.
You’ll need to book in advance for donkey rides, with various time slots available.
*Please note: due to the huge swell of interest in this year’s donkey day, we may need to restrict access to the car park or to the building at certain times during the day. We want to make the event available to everybody but must put safety first so please bear with us if you have to queue or if we ask you to park elsewhere.
**Please also note that all donkey rides are now booked up, and it will not be possible to purchase donkey rides on the day.
***As our duty of care to the donkeys, please note we’re unable to admit dogs (except guide dogs) on the day.
Thank you for your understanding – we’re sorry for any inconvenience.
