Don’t miss the unique opportunity to celebrate a traditional entertainment lunch at Manchester’s Taj Mahal!

The Monastery at Gorton, a building famously designed by Edward Welby Pugin (1834-1875), has been saved from dereliction by a dedicated and passionate team. A gruelling programme of restoration transformed this ruin into the magnificent monument it is today. On arrival, you will hear the story of the re-birth of Gorton from those who fought for it, a truly inspirational tale.

Greatdays Music Hall

The Music Hall tradition in the UK dates back to the 1850s. The ‘halls’ replaced the public houses as places to go and drink, eat and above all have fun! To celebrate our national pride on the feast of St George, we aim to recreate this wonderful tradition at our Greatdays Music Hall at the Monastery. You will enjoy the tunes that iconic performers such as Marie Lloyd, Max Miller, Gracie Fields and George Formby made famous. Sing along with our fantastic performers to all the old classics and allow us to entertain you! You will enjoy a sumptuous 3 course luncheon at your tables in the Great Nave. To add some extra pomp and ceremony, why not enter the best dressed competition? We welcome all things victoriana, top hats, tails, bonnets, chimney sweeps or Pearly Kings and Queens.

Here you can relax and enjoy a three-course meal before getting a restful nights sleep in one of the comfortable bedrooms.
