The Monastery aims to be Open Every Day between 11am- 4pm (except Saturdays) with free entry & free parking. Visitors are most welcome to call in between 11 and 4pm and visit the Heritage Corner but we cannot guarantee that the Great Nave will always be available.

Special Heritage & Visitor Open Days are held all year round on every Sunday, Monday and Tuesday when the Great Nave, Café & Shop are usually open between 11 and 4pm. Tours and talks can also be pre-booked on these open days. Please note, there will be no access to the Nave on Sunday 23rd June due to the Music Action International Concert (our Sunday Taste of The Monastery Tour in June will take place on Sunday June 30th). The Friary and Victorian Pantry will remain open as usual on these days.

A regular programme of community, health, well-being and family activities is also available for everyone to enjoy. Our affordable Community Rooms can be pre-booked for use 7 days of the week between 9am and 5.30pm.

After our first screening of Crazywise at The Monastery in January 2018 we are delighted to host our second screening with the film maker Phil Borges who is visiting the UK this winter.
Crazy or wise? The traditional wisdom of indigenous cultures often contradicts modern views about mental health crisis. Is it a calling to grow or just a ‘broken brain’? The documentary CRAZYWISE explores what can be learned from people around the world who have turned psychological crisis into positive transformative experience.
This event will be opened by Phil Borges followed by a Q&A session.
